13th Birthday letter to Amil

Hello my Teenager ðŸ˜Š

I clearly remember the day when you were born! It feels like it was yesterday, I was holding you in my arms and was gazing at every inch of you, from your nice black hair to your tiny-winy fingers, toes… I still remember your rolling bright eyes. When papa saw you first time, he was filled with tears of joy and said to me “our son is the most handsome boy in this world”. 4 days later you were at your home, received a warm welcome by Badi Nani, Bua, Amma, Dadua, Nimmi mausi, Baba. Nani was holding you and when we reached home, she was so excited that she took you inside and papa also followed her, leaving me behind in the car but quickly he came back to help me to come out of the car… funny huh!  Badi nani did all the rituals to welcome the new baby.

First I wanted to name you Ashmit but then papa and I changed it to Amil! Raising you was not easy but it was great fun experience, we spent sleepless nights and always figuring out what’s the best for my baby. Making you fall asleep was the most challenging task for me. You were such a happy and active baby, always seeking attention from everyone. Our world revolved around Amil, what Amil wants, what Amil likes, what Amil eats, how Amil is feeling, Amil Amil Amil! ðŸ˜Š
You were always very close to papa (still you both have great bonding) because he play and do fun stuff with you, he listens to you, he gives you advise, he understands you, you both argue as well! Sometimes I was even jealous that I am the one who spent whole day with you and now everything is all about papa.

I don’t know when those sleepless nights ended and now you are the newest teenager of the house, this the sweetest and the most difficult transition for any mom and dad. I know that you already know but I wanted to tell you that we are very proud of you my son, you are a great son, brother and above all a great human being! You are caring, kind, loving and at the same time you are ambitious, motivated, energetic, and hard worker. We have full faith in you that no matter what you will do, you will choose the right path to chase your dreams and success. WE BELIEVE IN YOU. ðŸ˜Š

When you were a kid I was always there to protect you, stop you to avoid accidents but now you are a teenager and you are in Middle school, you are meeting new people, people whom I don’t know, whom I never met, you are going to center, library, school on you own, you are becoming more independent now, I always try not to worry but being a mom I just can’t stop myself. You may face some problems which are not visible to us, you may need to take some decisions when we are not around you but always believe in your instincts and do what you think is right at the time!

We love you to the moon and back, we are always with you and love you the way you are.

Always yours,
Mummy and Papa.
